minutesA Sublime traditional pot roast that produces succulent tender beef and perfect vegetables all in one simple process
Ingredients
1.8 kg Topside of Beef
1 large Onion finelt chopped
4 medium Carrots Sliced in Rondelles
4 small Turnips sliced
4 Celery Sticks cleaned and sliced
2 large potatoes cut to your preference
bouquet garni Thyme, Parsley wrapped and tied in a Bay Leaf (A dried version can be shop bought)
salt and pepper
300 ml beef stock
Directions
- Place all the cut and prepared vegetables into your slow cooker
- Season the beef all over with the salt and pepper, and place on top of the vegetables
- Add the Bouquet Garni and the hot beef stock and cover with the lid
- Set the slow cooker to Low and the timer for 9-10 hours
- You can test the beef after 8 hours or so, to have it cook to your liking
- Once the beef is ready remove it and the vegetables from the cooker and place on a serving dish.
- Pour the remaining juices into a pot on a low heat and stir in some cornflour mixed with water until you have a nice smooth brown sauce. (you could use Beurre Manié if you feel really adventurous.
- Serve immediately
